Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item upgrades in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

upgrade Item components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of item names. For example the addition of a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several items.

If an item is finished being leveled, it will be eligible for a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the Best item upgrader is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will result in less chance of success.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential part of the game and can boost the damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done via the item upgrader menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the Best item upgrade's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also has a number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the item's stats much compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Set items can be upgraded to include special functions that are beneficial for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level as their levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
